Contract Manufacturing Manager (6-Month Contract Role)
Location: Waltham, MA (Hybrid / 3 days on-site weekly)
Role ID: 1478
We’re looking for a hands-on, driven Contract Manufacturing Manager to oversee planning, production, and procurement across three key contract manufacturing partners. You’ll be the operational heartbeat ensuring that production runs smoothly, schedules stay on track, and product gets out the door — all while supporting an exciting growth phase with new product launches and commercialization opportunities.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys solving complex supply challenges, and can confidently lead and influence external partners to deliver results.
Position Description:
- Own day-to-day operations with three U.S.-based contract manufacturing partners, driving production schedules, tracking attainment, and ensuring on-time, in-full delivery.
- Lead planning and procurement coordination, ensuring materials, forecasts, and production plans align with business needs and warehouse limits.
- Identify and resolve production issues — acting as the key liaison between manufacturing, customer service, and internal planning teams.
- Support commercialization efforts for new or existing co-manufacturers, contributing to the launch of new SKUs and efficiency initiatives.
- Monitor performance metrics such as fill rates, service levels, and production attainment, holding partners accountable to high standards.
- Continuously improve processes to help partners operate more effectively and reduce internal firefighting.
Background Required:
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain, production planning, or contract manufacturing management (food & beverage strongly preferred).
- A solid understanding of external manufacturing dynamics — how to plan for, communicate with, and hold co-mans accountable.
- A problem-solving mindset — someone who jumps in, figures things out quickly, and makes things happen.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead through influence with both internal and external partners.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
